Letter-October 16th, 2016

Hello everyone, I am happy to report that I am doing great. I am back out there and don't feel sick anymore. I just hope that it continues that way. This week was much better. It was nice to get back out to work and get teaching again. Right now our main focus in the work is the less actives. Through them we are finding part member families and also new investigators. We were able to attend a zone meeting this week with President and Sister Cruz. It was such a spiritual boost that I needed. He also made sure my health was ok. So I think I'm now good :) I love this work so much. It's so amazing for me to still feel the joy of service. The little things like getting sick just don't matter much when you have such a important work to do. I hope and pray the Lord gives me the strength to finish this mission strong. I will forever be grateful for my Savior and the tender mercies he gives me every day.

Letter-October 10th, 2016

Well this week was crazy. I got admitted a third time in the hospital. I got dengue again hahaha. These mosquitoes must love me A LOT. Ya it was a long week. I was only in the hospital for like 2 days, even thought I was sick most the week. The crazy part was we had to go back to Iloilo city to get admitted in a nice hospital. It didn't go as planned but I was thankful for the patience of my companion and the help from the Assistants. Happy to report that I am out of the hospital and doing well. I was able to see conference though. So I am so happy for that. It was the highlight of the week. I needed the spiritual boost.

Letter-October 2nd, 2016

Hello to all my loved ones. This week was business as usual. We are just doing our best to get out to work as much as possible and find people. My companion is doing great. I have sees lots of growth in her these last few weeks. I really love her a lot. We are just having fun exploring our area and trying to find out what works here. Every area is different for how the work goes best, so we are just praying to be aligned with Heavenly Fathers vision of our area.

This weekend we were able to watch the general women's broadcast. It was so amazing. I really loved President Uchtdorfs talk. It inspired me to really endure to the end of this mission. And finish strong and keep the faith. I am realizing now the end is going to be one of the hardest part. But our job is to keep the faith and finish strong. 

I love the work and I know that this church is true. I love you all so much!!!!!

Letter-September 25th, 2016

Hello everyone,

I hope that you are all enjoying this week, and getting ready for conference. This week for us was great. We got lost a few times, we are working without our tour guide. But we saw some tender mercies this weeks. I am so happy to be here in this area. It has it's challenges, but we can work it out. Our focus is now more on finding. We really need to build up our teaching pool. This week we were able to locate more members and less active homes. Also some new investigators as well. This week was my first Sunday in the Hamtic branch, because last week was conference. But I really love the unit here. They are eager and willing to help us missionaries. Yesterday we had 4 members join us in locating more of the less actives. SO I am happy to see their desire to help the missionaries.Anyway not much else about this week. I hope that you are all doing well. I love and miss you all. Have a good week.

Letter-September 18th, 2016

Hello everyone,

I am in my new area. It's AMAZING!!!! So beautiful. So this week, the first part I was saying goodbye to members from my old area, and then on Thursday I picked up my brand new companion Sister Santos. She is so sweet, she was a little shy at first when she found out a white girl was going to be her trainer, but she quickly realized, that there will be no communication problems. Anyway after a 5 hour meeting, we finally got on the bus to go to our area. It took like 4 hours, down a very curvy road. I got a little car sick.

 We arrived in Antique to the sisters waiting for us and found out we had another hour travel. So we stayed the night there. Then the next day we took our stuff and went to Hamtic. Sister Hussien is my housemate, so it's fun to be with her again. There are 4 of us in the house. So the last few days, we have been touring the area. I have been shown most of the area and the members in the area. It's HUGE! It has the beach on one side and the "mountains" and rice fields on the other. It's honestly so breathtaking. I have been waiting for something like this. One of the best parts of the week was going to a area called bingay. You have to take a single motor into the mountains. Then we barefoot hiked though rice fields and mountains to get to this village up in the hills. It was a blast. We all just laughed and it was so fun. 

Yesterday we had our District Conference, so I still didn't get to meet all the members, but that's ok. We had 2 members work with us yesterday to continue to show us around. I can tell the ward has a desire to work.

Letter-September 11th, 2016

Hello everyone, I hope this email finds you all well and happy. This week was great. We found a lot of potential investigators, but I am sad. I just found out that I am transferring this week! Actually I am really excited. I am going back out into the province, to Antique. NO more city air!!! And guess what else. I am training again!!!! YAY! "baby #2" I am so excited. We re-opening an old elders area, so I am so excited to see what this new area has in store. I am also excited to meet my new bata. So next week you will hopefully see some pics of her.

This week was our mission tour. Elder Haynie of the area presidency here in the Philippines and also a member of the 70 came. It was so fantastic. I was so inspired at what I learned from him. On Tuesday we had our mission leadership council and he attended and did the training. So I got to be uplifted and inspired twice. Sadly that was my last MLC because I am getting released from my calling as a STL and now becoming a trainer again! 

Some of the things that Elder Haynie focused on many things, but mostly finding. He helped us understand the importance of being good finders. I think all I learned will help me as we open our new area. He taught us what it really means to find scattered Israel, and how we need to understand our purpose better. We need to gather scattered Israel. One thing that stood out to me was he said, " Scattered Israel hangs out with Gathered Israel." Meaning we need to work close to the members and the people around them. I also received answers to my prayers during this mission tour, and even answers to prayers only in my heart, not yet asked. It really strengthen my testimony on how well our Heavenly Father knows each of us and he knows what we need. I really felt the spirit during the meeting. And felt peace about my mission and the fact that it is coming to a close.

Letter-September 4th, 2016

Hello everyone. This week was a lot of hard work. We spent most of the time finding and tracting. But it was great. I got to go on exchanges with Sister Alulod. She is such a funny sister. I was also her STL when we were back in Roxas, so it was nice to see her again. This week I also got to ride a carabou this week. It was awesome! YA another highlight this week was that our recent convert Elias and John Carlo Jacildo, got to join the the sacrament. It was really exciting for them, and everyone hahaha.
